Are you aware of the dynamics in cash rent?
If you are paying cash rent for some or all of your farmland for the coming crop year, how much extra are you paying, compared to recent years? How fast and far is it climbing? How strong is the cash rent market compared to the cash grain market? And how much is your land cost compared to your other production costs? While you can easily look at your computer screen and provide a precise answer, sitting down and thinking about the impact of rental rates is a sobering experience. It is not one you want to do very often.
